Day 3 Prague Czech Republic Part 2

Day 3
Prague Czech Republic - Part 2
Wednesday, October 3, 2018
This is the view out our hotel room 521.

We're in the bus and on our way to the Prague City Tour.
I took this picture because there are train tracks in the foreground and padlocks on the fence.
The city cuts them off periodically so the weight of the many locks will not compromise the integrity of the bridge.

On the way I took some photos of their public transportation vehicles.

Another one. This is a Porsche model.
It's bigger and fancier but with much less room and therefore not as practical.

This is a main attraction in Prague, aka Praha to the locals.
This is the Prague Castle.
"Within this massive complex, see the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral where the good St. Wenceslas is entombed behind polished emeralds and stones." (Viking Guide p.12)

Entrance to St. Vitus Cathedral

Close-up just above the front door entrance.

Inside St. Vitus Cathedral.
Beautiful stained class windows.

Looking toward the altar.

Our guide, Irene, in the foreground (left).

Our guide, Irene, she was really good.
Sue Rodgers on the left, John Rodgers at 1 o'clock.

A monument from the Czech fire department in honor of their American "brothers" lost in 9/11.

The famous Charles Bridge. Over 30 statues.

Entrance to the Charles Bridge.

After crossing the Charles Bridge I took this video...
Length: 00:00:23 sec.

Back at Old Town Square - the the Astronomical clock.

We ate lunch right across the street from the clock on the second floor.

Train Depot - East Bound trains only.

Another shot with commuter cars in view.

Entrance to Train Station.

Jan and I got adventurous and took the Metro to town.

We had a night tour of Prague tonight.
This is George our tour guide.

Panoramic Video of Prague at Night
Length: 00:00:11 sec.

The "Eifel" tower.

These pictures show the view from "Strahov Monastery, the oldest Premonstratensian monastery in Bohemia." (Viking Guide, p. 14)

The Czech flag. Blue triangle cutting into white top and red bottom.

Not very clear, but this was taken from the Zizkov TV Tower, "the highest building in Prague." (Viking Guide, p. 14)
Not admired by the locals for it's ugly structure built by the Nazis when they were in power, mid-1940s.

One more look at the Charles bridge while zipping by in the bus.
End of Day 3 in Prague, Czech Republic
