Day 2 Prague, Czech Republic Part 1

Day 2
Prague, Czech Republic Part 1
Tuesday, October 2, 2018
Made connecting flight in Frankfurt and now sitting in hotel in Prague Czech Republic.

Where is that, you may ask?

This European map shows Prague in relation to Germany, Austria and Hungary.
You can also see the red line which shows the River Danube and the route will be traveling these next two weeks.

Mom did great on both flights. No vertigo problems whatsoever.

Here are some pictures on the way to the hotel.

Here we are at the Prague Airport waiting for the hotel van to come.
We were met by Viking Tour Agents, Andrew and Thomas.
L. to R. Jan, John, Andrew, Susan, and Thomas.

We're in the van and leaving the airport.
Back home it would be 11:30pm, and we're just now beginning our day.
UGH!

Looking at the road ahead from inside the van.

On the way to the hotel I took this shot of the Vltava River which runs through Prague Czech Republic.
That bridge just happens to be a railroad bridge.

After a quick nap we headed downtown to the Old Town Square.
When we arrived we found this street performer trying to make a living.
His name was Sven from Sweden.

Here's our lunch bill.
The currency is unique to Prague.
Most European countries use the Euro.
Prague has their own currency called Koruna.

More of the Old Town Square.
This video gives you a 360 view of the Old Town Square.
Length: 00:00:27 sec.

This building houses the famous "Astronomical Clock" which has been keeping time since 1410.

Cool spires.
Old and new together.
Isn't it interesting how the building and zones committee or historic district allowed those new buildings to be built directly in front of the church?
